Woodmark’s approach was to minimize disruption by utilizing tools already in use (Access databases and Excel spreadsheets) to create a training database solution where the data could reside and business rules could flow.

The following is a sample of the training database functionality:

• Allows users to track training by course and other criteria
• Required training could be entered, including all variations
• Flexible reporting for meeting OSHA compliance:
  - Statements detailing planned and completed training
  - Missed training reports by course and employee
  - Historical reporting of training per employee
